Swan Transport History - Restoring "Old White"

The Swan family have been involved in transport for over 60 years, the business began with brothers Jerry and Jack Swan in 1948. The first truck they owned was a Bedford which tended to be very problematic and subsequently lead them to purchase their first new truck in 1949, a White WC 18R Super Power.

The brothers grew up in country Victoria and dedicated their lives to working in the Barmah State Forest, the truck was used to cart logs and grain during the harvest. With the passing of his beloved mother Barbara Swan, Geoff thought it would be an uplifting project for him and his father to restore the "Old White" to its former glory.

This was an arduous project that took over twelve months to complete. The motivating deadline was to have the truck completed in time to be able to exhibit it at the Transport Hall of Fame in Alice Springs. The trip was a huge success with many family members going along for the ride. The restoration process has given Geoff and his family a great deal of joy.
